STEM Communities Network
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
The Project

This is a project by IDESCOM Association to create a Network of STEM Communities through Regional and Local Hubs, with the aim of promoting systematic, coordinated, broad and sustainable multidisciplinary collaboration for the effective development of skills in the much-needed areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The promotion of scientific literacy, employability, and innovation, in alignment with national and European agendas and programs, and with a focus on inclusion (girls, rural areas, NEETs, people with disabilities) are the goals to be achieved.
The project framework
The project is based on an innovative perspective – distinguishing itself through its aggregating nature of STEM initiatives, of varying sizes and impact, that are under development, integrating and valuing their practices and results in the process of creating a STEM community. This means creating new STEM projects from scratch, but also deepening and aggregating ongoing projects in this field, with the aim of inspiring and driving the effective creation of a STEM community.
The following will be active participants in this project:
Educational institutions: School clusters, vocational schools, polytechnics and universities, other training entities.
Municipalities and Intermunicipal Communities (CIMs): spaces, co-financing, logistics.
Companies and clusters: on-the-job training, mentoring, donations, sponsorships.
Public entities and foundations: financial support, certification, awards.
Civil society: youth associations, libraries, parent associations, inclusion NGOs.
The project is in an advanced stage of preparation.
